Project #1: Research A Rock Band
Have your students select their FAVORITE rock group to research and then have them create an online presentation for their class about the group.
Students should:
- Select a rock band and insert an image of the band or their logo into their project.
- Name each band member, their instrument, and insert an image of each band member into their project.
- Write at least 3 sentences about the band’s formation.
- Create several sentences about the band’s musical style.
- Write a few sentences about the band’s career highlights.
- List at least 5 of the band’s songs.
- List at least 3 of the band’s albums.

Project #2: Create Your Own Rock Band
In this engaging project, you will have your students create their own band! This project uses endless creativity and imagination as students dream up their very own group!
Students should:
- brainstorm a band name.
- choose a stage name.
- select additional band members.
- draw their costumes.
- create a song list.
- design an album cover.
- identify cities to tour.
To extend this project, have students create actual cover or original songs with their bands!

Project #3: Research the Genre of Rock
Have your students research all elements of the history of the genre, including its characteristics, history, and key players. Then, have your students create a slide show about the genre to share with the class.
Students should
- write a few sentences about the history of the genre.
- list 3 characteristics of the musical genre.
- identify 3 popular “themes” that are explored in the genre.
- name and add photos of 6 popular artists or groups.
- name 5-7 song titles.
- list 5-7 album titles.
